about the artists
| Tonya Sammartino graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1989 with a BFA in Illustration. She was strongly influenced by the classical art of Trompe l’oeil mural painting which she studied while in RISD’s European Honors Program in Rome, (1987-1988) After college she worked in renowned architectural muralist Richard Haas’ Brooklyn mural painting studio.She has worked professionally in the Decorative Painting field for eighteen years in which time she has had the pleasure of collaborating with many Homeowners, Interior Designers and Business Owners to create unique custom results for their painting projects. Her commissioned paintings and murals can be seen in private homes, businesses and schools in Southern California and New England. She is currently a member of the California Art Club and The Mural Conservancy in Los Angeles. |
| Josie DiVincenzo grew up in Buffalo, NY, with an appreciation of all things artistic. Influenced by a woodworker father whose doodles were suitable for framing, an artist / teacher sister, and a brother whose paintings are now for sale in NY galleries, Josie has been drawing and painting since she can remember. From grammar school to her master's degree in Theatre Performance, she has travelled the fine art and performance art roads often simultaneously. There were many times she found herself painting scenery for the very play in which she was performing. Her murals, scene paintings and finshes can be seen through out the Los Angeles area in residences, theatres, and businesses. |
